Oakland commission sets 2026 qualifying window for three seats

The Town of Oakland adopted Resolution 2025‑07 at the Sept. meeting to set candidate qualifying dates for the 2026 town general election.
Kathy, town clerk, presented the resolution and said the qualifying windows will be Nov. 17–Dec. 2, 2025 for petition candidates and Dec. 3–Dec. 8, 2025 for fee candidates. The resolution covers beginning and ending dates and times to qualify for the March 2026 election.
Kathy noted that three seats will be on the ballot: Seat 1 (four‑year term), currently held by Commissioner Keller; Seat 3 (to complete a two‑year term), currently held by Commissioner Ramos; and Seat 4 (four‑year term), currently held by Commissioner McMullen. Kathy told potential candidates they may announce candidacy earlier by filing the required forms with the clerk’s office.
A motion to approve Resolution 2025‑07 was made and seconded; commissioners voted in favor by voice vote.
Ending: The clerk encouraged interested residents to contact her office for filing forms and additional information before the qualifying windows in November and December.
