The board also approved revised GPA and grading‑scale guidelines for Morton High School after staff and a committee presented the proposal and parents addressed the board. Trustees discussed concerns about student motivation, scholarship competitiveness and transcript clarity; the board agreed to pursue a compromise to retain percentage scores on transcripts where possible to preserve detail for college admissions and scholarships.
By unanimous vote the board adopted a resolution supporting Vision 2030, a statewide education initiative the board said emphasizes future‑focused learning, shared accountability and local control; trustees described the resolution as a statement of priorities rather than binding policy.
Finally, the board awarded the base bid for asbestos abatement at Morton High School’s East Gym to Spectrum Environmental in the amount of $150,850.
