The Gahanna Community Improvement Corporation reported to city council on Tuesday that its Aug. 19 meeting included a unanimous vote to demolish the Amfield property the CIC owns, pending bank approval.
Councilwoman Padova summarized the CIC meeting, saying the board called its Aug. 19 meeting to order at 7:32 a.m., approved minutes and July financials, discussed two open board seats and reviewed draft Gahanna economic development recommendations. On the Amfield property, Padova told council the CIC “followed by a unanimous vote to demolish the property pending bank approval.”
The CIC entered executive session during that meeting and adjourned at 9:30 a.m.; the next CIC board meeting is scheduled for Sept. 16 at 8 a.m., Padova said. The council did not take further action on the demolition at its Sept. 2 meeting; the CIC decision and any demolition timeline are contingent on bank approval and any required permits.
Padova did not provide demolition cost estimates or a timetable at the Sept. 2 council meeting; those details were not included in her report.
