State delegation credited with $6.5 million for three Nogales road projects

City Manager Albert Kramer introduced state legislative representatives at the Sept. 3 Nogales City Council meeting, and Arizona state legislators announced the Arizona Department of Transportation had executed intergovernmental agreements for three Nogales road projects.
Sen. Rosanna Gabaldon and Rep. Stephanie Stahl Hamilton told the council that ADOT had executed IGAs for Frank Reid Road, Industrial Park Road and La Quinta Road and that the state processed payments on Aug. 8. Kramer and council members praised bipartisan legislative support that secured nearly $6.5 million in state general-fund investment for the projects.
Why it matters: Nogales is a major commercial gateway; council members said the Industrial Park Road repair in particular will help freight traffic and businesses.
Council comments: Members thanked the legislators and the city lobbyist for work on the budget and said the road projects are an important step for future infrastructure work in Nogales.
