County engineering staff recommended both permits after confirming proposed depths and locations meet county requirements. For the MMEU permit, staff emphasized the installation meets the minimum depth for electrical installations — four feet — as distinguished from communications conduits typically placed at 30 inches. “So if It's 4 it's 4 feet, not just the 30 inch,” the engineer said when the Board asked about depth standards.
Board members moved and seconded approval of both permits; supervisors voted aye and the motions carried. Engineering staff noted work would be at the road edge and in the ditch and said contractors must meet the county’s permit conditions and traffic control requirements.
