The Jackson County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved an updated Jackson County voting system security policy dated Sept. 9, 2025.

The auditor told supervisors the policy is a confidential document that clarifies who has access to voting machines and related storage and security procedures following recent personnel changes in the auditor’s office. The board voted to adopt the updated policy by motion.

The auditor said the policy had not been updated for several years and that the update was necessary to ensure chain‑of‑custody and security assignments are current. Because the policy is confidential, county staff will maintain the document in the auditor’s office and follow the updated access protocols.
