At Tuesday’s meeting, the Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved routine administrative items including minutes, claims and a reissued warrant.
The board approved the minutes of the Sept. 2, 2025 proceedings as written and authorized publication in the official newspapers. The board then authorized the auditor’s office to issue warrants and publish a claims listing totaling $302,054.23; the auditor noted significant items in the listing included a $50,000 payment for new voting machines, road rock and fuel purchases.
Supervisors also authorized a handwritten warrant to reissue $50 to a township trustee to replace a canceled warrant that had not been presented within the county’s timeframe. County staff discussed potential administrative remedies for repeated instances, including encouraging direct deposit (ACH) for future payments.
Finally, the board accepted and placed on file the county recorder’s report of fees collected for August 2025 in the amount of $47,575.16.
