County staff briefed the fiscal court on several infrastructure and grant items. Chip (county staff) confirmed a cybersecurity grant deadline of Sept. 19; the grant is for $10,000 with the county’s matching portion estimated at up to $5,000, Chip said, and staff confirmed they could assemble application materials in time.
Public works director JR reported he is working on Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) grant programs—referred to as KPPP and LERP in the meeting—and that bids for Mount Horeb and Northrace Fork repairs have been advertised. County staff said those bids will be opened on Sept. 9 at 2:00 p.m., and that environmental, engineering and archeological reviews are part of the grant and construction process.
The court did not take a formal vote during the briefing; members discussed timing and asked staff to proceed with applications and to return with bid results and next steps once bids are opened and evaluated.
