Council appoints members to citizen advisory and bicycle‑pedestrian committees; attendance stressed

The City Council appointed new members to the Citizen’s Advisory Committee and the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee on Sept. 2, after several applicants gave brief introductions.

Applicants who spoke included Anthony Del Valle, David Lybarger and Mark Woods. Council members selected Anthony Del Valle as the primary appointment to the Citizen’s Advisory Committee and Mark Woods as the alternate. For the Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee the council appointed David Lybarger as the primary member with an alternate appointment assigned according to council procedure.

Council members used the moment to stress committee attendance. Council member noted that recent Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) attendance reports showed low participation from previous appointees, and reminded new appointees that virtual participation is sometimes allowed but regular attendance is expected.

The appointments were approved by council vote and no formal appeal or public objection was recorded in the meeting minutes.
