Two residents asked Solon City Council on Aug. 18 to install a speed bump and additional signage at the Cromwell Drive and North Roundhead Drive intersection after a vehicle entered a private yard and injured occupants.
A speaker who identified himself as a resident at 7333 Winchester Drive said, “we need speed breaker at the crossing of Cromwell Drive and North Roundhead Drive in Solon,” and described an Aug. 17 crash that damaged property. The resident said a similar crash occurred Jan. 15, 2023, and referenced police report No. 20230033.
Santosh Kandelva of 32764 Washington Court described being 30 meters inside his yard when a vehicle drove into their property. He asked the council to add a speed hump before the stop line, curve-warning signs and “children at play” signage at the location.
Councilmembers acknowledged the incident and said they would raise the matter at the safety committee. Councilmember Palunas said he met with the residents and would sit down with them to review photos and details; he noted public-safety staff had seen photos and would discuss recommendations at the committee.
Council members did not make an immediate commitment to install traffic calming measures but said they would investigate and that staff and the safety committee would review potential signage and engineering options.
