At the Sept. 9 meeting the St. Lucie County School Board adopted proposed amendments to five school board policies: Policy 4.120 (employment of support staff), Policy 5.136 (wireless communication devices), Policy 6.320 (purchasing and contracting for commodities and contractual services), Policy 6.325 (procurement for federal grants/funds) and Policy 6.610 (school internal funds).
Superintendent Dr. Prince recommended adoption of the amendments during the public hearing on policy changes. The board took no public comments on the items and voted to adopt the amendments by motion from board member Angus, seconded by board member Arison; the measures passed 5-0.
The board opened the hearing and invited public comment; no speakers addressed the proposed policy changes before the board moved to vote. The adopted amendments will be incorporated into district policy documents and posted per board practice.
