The Piedmont Community Charter School Board unanimously approved the personnel report for July and August during the Aug. 19 meeting, accepting several new hires for elementary and other campuses.

Head of School Malia presented the personnel report and listed hires made in July and August. The board approved Jennifer Agosto as an exceptional childrens teacher and Lindsay Cognell as an exceptional childrens teacher assistant at the elementary campus. Additional hires reported in August included Jennifer Hedgepath as a fourth‑grade interim teacher, Nicholas Skaggs as chorus instructor and Chloe Phillips as an exceptional childrens teacher assistant; Malia said the school remains actively recruiting a permanent fourth‑grade teacher.

During the meeting Malia moved the board to approve the July and August personnel reports; a board member seconded the motion and the board voted unanimously in favor.

Malia also reported enrollment figures in the same segment: 1,992 students enrolled as of Aug. 13 when the board report was submitted and 1,989 in attendance by day four of the school year. The personnel approvals were procedural and no further conditions were attached to the approvals.
