Jamestown Public Schools announced changes to its elementary activities and after‑school partnerships during the Aug. 18 meeting, including a move to have Jamestown Parks and Recreation manage activities through fifth grade at the Two Rivers Activity Center.
Superintendent Dr. Lehi said the shift will allow the district to bus students to activities, which the district said it has not been able to do previously because of drop‑off logistics. "We think it's going to be a more efficient process," she said, calling the change an opportunity to enhance services and the community partnership.
The district also reported a notice of intent for 21st Century Community Learning Centers after‑school funding; administrators noted past awards of about $188,000 annually and a potential increase to approximately $240,000 for the 2025–26 program year, though eligibility questions remain for some elementary sites depending on Title I eligibility.
Dr. Lehi also described an expanded corporate partnership with Collins Aerospace to support JVCTC programming, scholarships and the first robotics team; district staff will convene stakeholders and Collins representatives to align charitable giving and program needs.
The board received a summary of capital projects completed over the summer (the packet listed roughly $1 million in summer facility work across the district) but did not take separate action on those items at the meeting.
