Canyon ISD trustees approved a competitive sealed proposal award for roofing maintenance to LVK Roofing at the Aug. 25 meeting after administrators described a multi-vendor evaluation process.
What the board approved: administration recommended LVK Roofing (listed in board materials as LBK/LVK) as the district's roofing-maintenance vendor for 2025–26 following a rubric-based scoring of five proposals. Trustees voted unanimously to approve the award.
Evaluation and rationale: staff presented a scoring rubric that weighed material cost, price per square foot for repairs and replacements, manufacturers' certifications and vendor experience. District staff noted LVK had the most applicable manufacturer certifications for the mix of roofs in the district, and staff highlighted LVK's rapid response work earlier in the year to address multiple urgent roof repairs. The firm received the highest combined score on price, experience and past district responsiveness.
Why it matters: roofing maintenance and timely repairs are critical to protect facilities and prevent interior damage from weather events; administrators said they will still go to competitive bid for large roof-replacement projects as necessary but that a single maintenance vendor helps coordinate repairs and warranty work and provides continuity.
Next steps: staff will execute a maintenance contract and begin scheduled repairs; any large replacement projects will follow capital procurement rules and a separate competitive-bid process.
