District administrators presented the Vidor ISD 2025 STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) results on July 14, saying students exceeded the region in multiple subjects and performance levels, though the district remains short of state averages in selected measures.

Dr. Kilgo (staff member) walked trustees through charts for math, reading (RLA), science and social studies. He said the district exceeded both region and state on “approaches” and in many cases on “meets” performance levels; for math Vidor exceeded the region at approaches, meets and masters, and algebra I results were described as particularly strong. “Our algebra 1 scores blew out anything in the state,” Dr. Kilgo said, adding that the district should continue focus on areas with room for improvement.

The presentation included a multi-year chart showing historical performance dips following Hurricanes Harvey and Imelda. Administrators said the district will continue grade-level analysis and targeted strategies, and invited trustees to review four supporting documents that break results down by grade and test.
