He said the district exceeded both region and state on “approaches” and in many cases on “meets” performance levels; for math Vidor exceeded the region at approaches, meets and masters, and algebra I results were described as particularly strong. “Our algebra 1 scores blew out anything in the state,” Dr. Kilgo said, adding that the district should continue focus on areas with room for improvement.
The presentation included a multi-year chart showing historical performance dips following Hurricanes Harvey and Imelda. Administrators said the district will continue grade-level analysis and targeted strategies, and invited trustees to review four supporting documents that break results down by grade and test.
