Alief trustees pick delegate and alternate for TASB delegate assembly

The Alief Independent School District Board of Trustees selected Trustee Rick Moreno as its delegate and Trustee Pastor Greg Patrick as alternate to attend the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) delegate assembly at the TASB/TASA convention in September. Trustee Janice Burlock nominated Moreno; he accepted the nomination. The board voted by show of hands and the president recorded the outcome as 6 in favor, 0 against and 0 abstentions. Trustee Greg Patrick was nominated as the alternate and said he would serve “if health allows.” The board again voted by show of hands, with the president recording 6 in favor, 0 against and 0 abstentions. Board President Darlene Breaux noted that because Alief serves on the TASB board of directors the district is entitled to an extra delegate. Trustees discussed scheduling conflicts before finalizing the delegate and alternate. No legal questions or budget actions were associated with the selections; nominations were made and approved during the meeting.
