The Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Board of Education voted on several items during its June 26 regular meeting.

The board set a public hearing on the tentative fiscal year 2026 budget for Sept. 25, 2025, authorized posting the tentative budget and allowed expenditures during the first fiscal quarter in accordance with the tentative budget until final adoption. The motion carried by voice and a roll call; the motion was recorded as carrying 7-0.

The board approved several procurement awards: Bid 26-003 for copy paper to Garvey's Office Products for $54,962.94; Bid 26-004 for English novels (vendors as presented); and RFP 26-001 for new servers and storage to Adanis X Technologies in an amount not to exceed $288,618.02. All procurement motions passed on recorded votes reported in the meeting as 7-0.

The board ratified a three-year collective-bargaining agreement with Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 73 covering custodial, grounds and maintenance staff for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028. Highlights the board recorded in its packet include a 60-hour compensatory payout annually (no rollover), guaranteed minimum of 13 holidays annually, vacation tiers (15 days for staff with less than five years, 20 days entering year six), and base salary increases of 12% in year 1 and additional percentage increases in years 2 and 3; the board recorded that the HR, finance and legal reviews preceded ratification. The motion carried 7-0.

Board member action to table item 6.8 (approval of the assistant superintendent of academics contract) was approved earlier in the meeting and recorded as a carry; the board later discussed the process for hiring an assistant superintendent and agreed the full board should interview final candidates for cabinet-level positions.

After an executive session, the board reconvened in open session and approved appointing Steve Ledzinski as an investigator for the limited purpose of investigating a grievance complaint. The appointment vote was recorded at the reconvened session; the motion carried, recorded as 6-0 with one absence noted.

No other contract approvals beyond those listed above were voted at the June 26 meeting.
