Kevin Constantine, presenting a 2020 construction bond update, told the Friendship ISD Board that exterior work at Memorial High School is complete and that interior systems are being finished.
“Building on the outside is complete. All the glass is in,” Constantine said, showing photos of the foyer, auditorium control booth, carpet installation and installed handrails. He described ongoing work on HVAC and interior finishes and said the elevator has been inspected and is “ready to roll.” He also showed images of the athletics areas, locker rooms, panther pit and indoor turf area and gave updates on the field-house entry, concessions and coach offices.
Constantine gave progress details for other bond projects across the district: welding booths and vocational spaces in the career-technical wing were being staged, landscaping was nearing completion on the afterschool center conversion, and the soccer locker room was about “95% complete” with doors and finishes installed. He noted concrete-pouring challenges due to weather but said the team poured “almost 100 trucks of concrete last week” when conditions permitted.
Board members praised Constantine and the contractor teams for the progress. The board did not take a formal vote on the update; the presentation was given as an informational item and administration said it would continue to provide periodic construction reports to the board.
