Board appoints Gary Gracia as TASB delegate and Trustee Watkins as alternate

The Crowley ISD Board of Trustees appointed Trustee Gary Gracia to serve as the district’s official voting delegate and Trustee Chiquina Watkins to serve as the alternate for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) delegate assembly in September in Houston.
Mr. Kirschner introduced the item and noted the September deadline for selecting a delegate and alternate. An earlier motion proposing Trustee Watkins as the delegate with Trustee Gracia as alternate was amended during discussion. Dr. Robinson amended the motion recommending that Trustee Gary Gracia serve as the official voting delegate and that Trustee Watkins serve as the alternate; Dr. Mayfield seconded the amendment and the motion passed by voice vote.
No further action was taken; staff will submit the district’s delegate and alternate to TASB before the convention deadline.
