Board names new social-studies coordinator and Oakmont assistant principal

The Crowley ISD Board of Trustees on Aug. 27 approved multiple administrative hires recommended by the superintendent, including Michael Greer for coordinator of pre-K through 12 social studies and Corey Lee as assistant principal at Oakmont Elementary School.
Superintendent Dr. Michael McFarland introduced the personnel recommendations and said the board had several items for approval. For the coordinator position the administration recommended Mr. Michael Greer. Trustee Chiquina Watkins moved to recommend Michael Greer for coordinator; Dr. Latanya Woodson Mayfield seconded the motion and it passed by a show of hands.
For Oakmont Elementary School’s assistant principal, the board heard a recommendation for Corey Lee. Trustee Kalisha Stevenson moved to appoint Corey Lee as assistant principal; Dr. Mayfield seconded and the motion passed.
Trustees congratulated the approved administrators; no further discussion or amendments of the personnel recommendations were recorded in the public minutes.
