Cedar Hill ISD presented a package of instructional resources for renewal on July 21 that exceed the district’s $50,000 board‑reporting threshold. The items include Exact Path (personalized learning), Study Island (intervention), MAP assessments (NWEA), College Board services (PSAT/ACT/TSIA administration), and several other classroom and language resources.

Staff said many of the platforms were used during the prior year and that the resources support assessment, targeted intervention, curriculum alignment and AP/LOTE coursework. The district also proposed Savas for advanced LOTE (languages other than English) courses and noted that Amplify-related products (Amplify and mClass) are part of a consolidated vendor spend. Presenters said certain line items sit just below the $50,000 threshold individually but combined exceed it.

Trustees pressed for evidence of usage, fidelity and academic return on investment. Trustee Carmen Morgan and others asked for data showing how many students actively use each product, performance gains tied to the platforms and whether campuses might already be purchasing overlapping resources. Administrators agreed to provide usage reports and data on impact as part of the decision process and to present a curriculum‑renewal plan tied to district goals.

No final purchasing vote on all items was recorded in the discussion; staff said they planned to return with data and a clearer procurement schedule.
