District reports early enrollment and attendance trends; —we miss you— outreach planned

A staff presenter said the district compared the 2024'25 and 2025'26 enrollment snapshots and identified some local losses to nearby districts and charter schools. Staff said the district will begin a "We Miss You Already" campaign to contact families who have withdrawn locally and will present a detailed demographer's report on Sept. 15 that examines housing, birth-rate and projection trends.
Staff also described district efforts to tighten attendance reporting and supports, including campus-level meetings and a new district-level attendance team to work with campuses to refine checks and balances and drive improvements in average daily attendance (ADA). Trustees asked for comparative data that shows the effect of campus-level attendance outreach on ADA, and staff agreed to provide additional breakdowns in coming reports.
