Weld County commissioners on Sept. 8 approved Contract ID 9900, a relocation-assistance agreement totaling $143,243.50 to reimburse a tenant displaced by property acquisition for the County Roads 54 and 13 roundabout project. County staff said the payment is required under the CDOT grant and the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act (the Uniform Act).

Clay Kimmy of Public Works told the board the tenant had decided to acquire property in Nebraska and that the county had already paid some moving and storage expenses. He described the agreement as required by the CDOT grant and consistent with the Uniform Act and Relocation Act.

Commissioner Scott James moved “to reluctantly approve shipping some of our money to Nebraska and approve the resolution,” a motion seconded on the floor; the board approved the contract by voice vote.

Staff stated the total amount of the agreement as $143,243.50 and said the agreement had been approved for placement on the agenda on Sept. 3. The board’s action authorized the chair to sign the relocation agreement on behalf of the county.
