District staff told trustees the district will ask for approval in September to list a roughly 38-acre parcel at 1317 North Joe Wilson Road for sale after completing an appraisal that valued the site at $2.5 million.
Superintendent Doctor David said the parcel, located behind a commercial site identified in the packet and near a substation, had not been included in an earlier batch of appraised properties but has now received an appraisal. The district's realtor believes the property's location and infrastructure nearby could make it attractive to buyers. Staff plans to present a formal request in September to place the parcel on the market.
A trustee asked staff to compile and publish a list showing all district-owned properties and which parcels have been appraised or already placed on the market, so the public can see which sites are available and which remain dormant. Staff said they had one meeting scheduled with an interested party on a previously listed property and that purchasing staff posts offerings on the district's procurement portal during an open solicitation window.
No sale or contract award was approved at this meeting; trustees will consider the formal authorization to list and sell the 1317 North Joe Wilson Road parcel at a future meeting once appraisal and listing details are finalized.
