County awards $369,000 roofing contract for county buildings and extends temporary street closures for paving

The Weld County Board of Commissioners approved a low bid for roof replacement at two county buildings and authorized an extension of temporary street closures to finish final paving work in Greeley. Toby Taylor of County Purchasing presented bid B2500088 for removal and replacement of roof systems at Building 1400 and Building 1402; the low bidder, Better Line Roofing, met specifications and Facilities recommended awarding the contract in the amount of $369,000. Commissioner Ross moved approval of the bid award; Commissioner Maxey seconded and the board approved the award on the record. Public Works representative Amy Muche presented a request from Reynolds Construction to extend temporary closures of specified streets in Greeley to complete final paving operations. Muche said unexpected adjustments to service-tie schedules delayed final paving and requested the opening date for the listed streets be extended from Aug. 8 to Aug. 15 to complete final paving. Commissioner Maxey moved to approve the extension; Commissioner Peppler seconded and the board voted unanimously to grant the extension. No protests or alternatives were recorded on the public record for either the procurement or the road-closure extension. County staff will proceed with contract execution and coordinate with the contractor and the city to complete paving and reopen the roads on the revised schedule.
