The Weld County Board of Commissioners proclaimed August 2025 as Child Support Awareness Month and heard a presentation from the Department of Human Services highlighting collections, caseload data and recent state awards.
Commissioner Peppler read the proclamation, noting the county recognizes the role of child support in meeting children's basic needs. The board signed the proclamation; the action on the record is a ceremonial proclamation and was approved by the full board.
Deputy Director Tammy Grant presented performance figures for the Weld County Child Support Services division, saying the division “demonstrates its ongoing dedication to enhancing family engagement” and noting statewide recognition. Grant said the division was the only large county to meet federal current support collection goals as of June 2025 and that the team received four awards at the Colorado Family Support Council conference.
Grant reported that, for the calendar year period January–May 2025, the division distributed over $11,000,000 to families; in 2024 the Family Support Registry processed $24,000,000, she said. She also reported the division established or modified 211 court orders, responded to 5,531 client inquiries, initiated 577 new cases, and maintained a caseload of nearly 8,000 cases supporting over 5,600 children. Grant listed Division staff by name on the record.
Following the presentation commissioners offered public praise for the division’s work. No board motions changing policy or budget were recorded in connection with the proclamation; the item on the record is a formal recognition and an opportunity for the department to report accomplishments.
