The council noted procedural changes for the Civil Service Commission referencing Iowa Code 400.1, which requires publication of mayoral selections no less than 30 days prior to the council vote. Multiple applicants addressed the council for vacancies on the Civil Service Commission and Housing Commission; staff noted written materials had been submitted for several applicants.
Council members thanked applicants for their interest and advanced the formal appointment of Katie Bailey to the Transit Advisory Board by motion of Roussell and second by Wethal; the roll call vote was 7‑0.
