The Sioux City Council approved a consent-agenda resolution appointing Thomas Pingle as the city's public works director. The council noted the role will include executive oversight of phase 1 and phase 2 wastewater treatment facility improvement projects, covering coordination of engineering, construction and interagency engagement.
The mayor praised Pingle's prior work at the wastewater treatment plant and said the public works director will "retain executive oversight of the phase 1 and phase 2 wastewater treatment facility plan improvements projects, including the coordination of the engineering, construction, and interagency engagement." The mayor added the position had been vacant for about two years and thanked Pingle for taking on the role.
The appointment was included in the consent agenda and passed unanimously as part of the consent package. Council members recorded a 5-0 approval of the consent agenda.
