The Glen Arden City Council on a unanimous voice vote approved a resolution to contract catering services for the city’s planned Glen Arden Day celebration, authorizing up to $7,500 from the city budget for refreshments. The measure was introduced and read into the record by the city clerk and moved to the floor without opposition.
The resolution says the council is promoting community outreach and will celebrate Glen Arden Day “to bring the community together for a day of celebration,” and that hospitality services will be provided per the attached contract. The resolution specifies that “the cost for services will not exceed $7,500” and that funds will be drawn from budget line item 10-30-10-8647. It also states the resolution takes effect immediately upon adoption.
Councilwoman Cross praised the hire and said the caterer was hired to support an event expected to draw about 600 people. “Good on you. We look forward to this event,” Cross said, adding she expected the food to be “equally as amazing.” The council adopted the resolution by unanimous consent after the clerk read the attachment and a motion and second were recorded.
The resolution does not include details beyond the contract cap, the budget line, or the vendor name; administrative staff will execute the contract under the terms described. The council did not discuss further follow-up items tied to the catering contract during the meeting.
The council moved on to other business after adopting the resolution.
