Commission extends Wickline Center facility use agreement with Salty Church through Sept. 30

The Flagler Beach City Commission on Tuesday authorized a month-to-month extension of the Wickline Center facility use agreement with Salty Church, establishing Sept. 30 as the final date for the church to vacate the facility.

City staff told the commission Family Coastal Church had secured a new facility across John Anderson Road and that Salty Church would move into the vacated space temporarily while coordinating the transition. The approved resolution (2025-72) was amended to remove a provision that would have permitted further extensions beyond Sept. 30; commissioners said they wanted a firm deadline.

City Manager’s account: staff said Salty Church will leave behind chairs and other inventory and that Family Coastal Church planned to leave equipment for the incoming congregation. The manager said staff expects the Salty Church move to be complete by the end of September and that the city will inventory donated equipment.

Vote: the resolution as amended passed 5–0 on a roll call vote.
