At a city code enforcement hearing, the hearing officer addressed recurring maintenance problems at 1913 North Central, owned by Davis Homes LLC, and urged the owner to calendar regular upkeep to prevent repeat violations.
The hearing officer said the property has been subject to repeated contacts for overgrowth and earlier structural issues. "If we have to see this again, it becomes a recurring event and that puts you in a very untenable situation of potentially double fines," the hearing officer told Kyle Davis, who identified himself as the owner and said the property is an investment.
Code enforcement officers said the structure had soffit damage that has since been repaired and that grass and weeds at the property recur because the owner sometimes forgets routine maintenance. Kyle Davis said he would "definitely calendar it" and described arranging for soffit repairs and additional mowing.
Staff recommended periodic attention rather than enforcement while the property remains in compliance. When asked whether an order was required, staff replied no and the hearing concluded without a formal enforcement order.
The hearing also included practical advice from code staff about maintaining rock front yards and controlling weeds; staff suggested spot treatment rather than routine mowing where rock landscaping is present.
The record shows the matter is currently in compliance; the hearing officer emphasized that future recurrence could trigger higher penalties or repeat-violation findings.
