A Millersville University representative, Norman, told Millersville Borough Council that the university began the 2025–26 academic year with move-in and orientation activity and welcomed 1,603 new first‑year and transfer students.
Norman said the class represents 29 states and 17 nations and includes 579 first‑generation students. The university’s opening day headcount of 7,164 is up about 2% from the previous year and includes 5,904 undergraduate and 1,185 graduate students.
Norman reminded the public that campus parking restrictions change with the academic year—Chick‑fil‑A at the Student Memorial Center remains open to the public, but parking is available there only after 5 p.m. during the academic term. Norman also highlighted upcoming events including Community Fest on Sept. 10, Homecoming on Oct. 4, the opening football game Sept. 4, marching band themes and a Peace Kids art show and silent auction Sept. 5 at the Ware Center. Ticket and vendor registration information is on the university website, Norman said.
Council thanked the representative and asked no further questions.
