The Newark City Council unanimously adopted Resolution 25-54 to authorize the director of public service to enter into a lease agreement with Park National Bank for a medic unit for the division of fire.

Councilman Marmey explained the action updates earlier authorization for units that were ordered about two years ago and reflects an extension of the financing term from four to five years at the lender’s request. "These were the ones that were ordered, like, two years ago," Marmey said. "Because time had lapsed, and we're also gonna change the length of the term from 4 years to 5 years, they asked that we have new legislation."

The motion to adopt 25-54 was made by Marmey and seconded by Koss. Clerk called the roll and the resolution passed 9-0.

Council did not amend the resolution during the meeting and no additional debate or conditions were recorded beyond the explanation that the new legislation was a procedural update to allow delivery and financing to proceed.
