The Westerville City Schools Board of Education approved a service agreement on Aug. 25 with Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center to provide orientation and mobility services for students with visual impairments.
Miss Glass, the presenter, said orientation and mobility services are specialized and that the district partners with the ESC because certified providers are limited. The agreement covers services outlined in students’ individualized education plans and aims to ensure continuity of support for students who need travel-safety and independence training within school and community environments.
The board approved the contract during the meeting; no further detail on cost or contract length was read into the record during the public portion of the agenda, and Miss Glass said she would answer questions as needed.
