Board meets new maintenance director and new high‑school assistant principal

The Port Angeles School District Board of Directors heard brief introductions from two recently hired staff members: Eric Britton, the district’s new maintenance director, and Jerram Packer, the new assistant principal and athletic director at the high school.

Eric Britton told the board he had been on the job for about two weeks. "Again, my name is Eric Britton. I've been here for 2 weeks now and, I'm just really excited to be here," he said, adding he had been trying to meet principals, teachers and support staff across the district.

The board also introduced Jerram Packer, who had been on the job for four days. Packer said he previously worked in the district as an elementary physical‑education teacher and that he would combine assistant principal duties with athletic director responsibilities. "I'm really excited... assistant principal and athletic director trying to tie those 2 duties together," he said.

The introductions were informational; no personnel actions were taken during the meeting. Board members welcomed the new staff, thanked them for stepping into their roles and encouraged them to reach out with needs as they settle in.
