The board approved renewal of Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD's property, casualty, commercial and liability insurance during the Sept. 4 meeting after administration described a projected premium reduction.

Carla Settle introduced the item and credited facilities staff for proactive maintenance and mitigation that influenced carrier pricing. "We had a record decrease in our premium of 15% and so our projected budgeted premium will be $500,000 less than what we had originally budgeted," Settle said. She specifically praised Bobby Shaw and the facilities team for work related to extreme weather preparedness and response that she said factored into carrier actuarial calculations.

Superintendent Dr. Eldridge and trustees expressed thanks to facilities staff for pre‑event mitigation and rapid post‑event repairs. The board voted to approve the renewal; the motion carried with a 7–0 vote.
