Leanne Stone, a district staff member, described a longstanding memorandum of understanding with Texas Woman's University (TWU) at the Sept. 4 board meeting. The MOU sends TWU work-study students to CFB ISD campuses to provide application help and college-readiness assistance while CCMR staff members are present. "This is a historic partnership that we have had with Texas Woman's University...they send the students and instructors that come out, assist with that process with a CCMR staff member present as well," Ms. Stone said. She said the TWU students help with ApplyTexas and other college application questions, assist students completing forms and provide guidance to increase the number of students who complete applications. Ms. Stone emphasized that the support is not limited to TWU admission but helps students apply broadly to multiple colleges. The item was presented as an administrative report; the board did not take separate formal action during the meeting.
