Lycoming County commissioners approved multiple procurement and service items in a single consent sequence, including continuing forensic laboratory services, forensic pathology services for the district attorney’s office, the sale of surplus IT equipment, sprinkler relocation work for the building and demolition at the county farm.
County staff presented a 2026 agreement with Forensic Fluids Laboratories for approval. The board also approved a continuing agreement with Health Network Laboratories, doing business as Forensic Pathology Associates, for services for the district attorney’s office not to exceed $15,000.
Two surplus-IT lots were awarded to the same bidder for $2,151 each, staff said. Commissioners also approved a $7,430 agreement with Icon Fire to relocate sprinklers in the building’s lower level because of a new floor layout; staff said this was not budgeted for 2025 but there are funds available. Separately, Steiningbacher Enterprises was awarded $9,253 to demolish and remove material for a six-bay garage at the county farm; staff said the proceeds from a nearby house sale will be applied to farm-related expenses.
Earlier in the meeting, the board reviewed bids for a flood-acquisition demolition project; staff reported two bids: Haven and Excavating at $35,054 and Steinbacher Enterprises at $27,268. Staff did not identify additional contract contingencies during the open session.
Commissioners voted to approve each procurement item in succession. Where items were not budgeted for 2025, staff said funds are available and that some costs will be offset by proceeds from asset sales or by existing funds.
