South Pasadena committee elects new construction chairs and reappoints social media chair

The South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee held midyear officer nominations at its September meeting and approved new leadership positions for float construction and digital outreach.

Committee members nominated Brandon Carlson and Jeremy Bruce for construction chair and assistant construction chair, respectively; the nominations were put to a vote and approved without recorded opposition. The chair urged the newly installed leaders to assume responsibilities immediately.

The committee also nominated and confirmed Chris Colburn as social media chair. Janet Benjamin made the nomination, and the committee voted to approve Colburn’s appointment.

These appointments were made by voice vote during the meeting; no formal ballots or compensation were associated with the changes. Committee members requested that Brandon and Jeremy provide construction photos to the social media chair for promotional use, and asked that social media content acknowledge sponsors and tent-banner supporters.

Why it matters: Leadership assignments set who will coordinate construction work, volunteer management and outreach in the months ahead as the committee moves toward parade season.
