The Mason Schools Foundation told the board it provided almost 1,000 students with school supplies this summer — nearly 10% of the district’s students — and that about half of those families received supplies in person during a district distribution.

Foundation representatives credited community volunteers and local partners for the scale of the effort and highlighted a major upcoming fundraiser. The foundation’s gala is scheduled for Oct. 25 at the Dream Center, organizers said, and proceeds support foundation programs that supplement district services.

Board members praised the effort and singled out volunteers and leaders who coordinated the drive. The foundation asked community members to “save the date” and support upcoming events.
