Walker County Commissioners Court after an executive-session briefing on Aug. 11 voted to authorize outside counsel Mike Park to participate in the Purdue Direct settlement program on behalf of Walker County.

The court convened in executive session under Texas Government Code §551.071 for a litigation update from Mike Park, then returned to open session and took the item up. A motion gave the law firm the authority to join the Purdue Direct settlement program and to sign settlement documents on the county’s behalf.

Court minutes show a formal vote approving participation; the motion included authority for the county judge and/or counsel to sign required documents. The vote was unanimous.
