McLeod County notified the public that surplus county equipment will be sold via MINBid beginning Sept. 29, 2025, with bidding closing Oct. 10, 2025. The items listed in the board packet include three snow plows, trailers from public works and solid waste, a parks mower and skid steer, and a forklift from the fairgrounds.

Staff said the items were approved for sale as replacements have been purchased or are planned. The county will publish the notification with the board minutes in the local paper to meet statutory advertising requirements; staff also said it will add information to the county website to help interested bidders find the MINBid listing.

A commissioner asked whether the county posts reminders beyond the board packet; staff said they will place notification on the website and that the formal legal advertisement will appear with the minutes in the newspaper.

The action noted was a notification to fulfill statutory requirements and not a separate board sale action; bidding dates and the list of items were provided on the record.
