Committee recruits volunteers for Sept. 27 Buddy Walk; multiple prep shifts available

Committee members relayed volunteer opportunities for the Buddy Walk scheduled for Sept. 27 at the state capitol grounds. Organizers asked for volunteers for event-day shifts and for preparatory work in the week before the walk. Volunteer time slots available on Sept. 27 cover 8:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m. (setup and registration) and 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. (guiding participants, sales and teardown); volunteers may sign up for one or both shifts. Organizers also requested volunteers on Monday, Sept. 22 (1–4 p.m.) to sort and fold T‑shirts and prep sponsor and team captain bags, and on Tuesday, Sept. 23 (9 a.m.–4 p.m.) to finish prep and deliver sponsor materials as needed. Tasks described by the organizer include checking in registrants and distributing team captain bags, handling donations by cash/check or card at the registration table, handing out or selling additional T‑shirts, and assisting teardown. Volunteers were asked to supply name, email and phone number so organizers can confirm assignments and communicate any changes. Committee members volunteered to cover several time slots and agreed to send names to the Buddy Walk contact within the coming week.
