Morton County approves homestead abatements and error-correction abatements for Mandan parcels

The Morton County Commission approved several tax abatements and error corrections for properties located inside the City of Mandan at its Aug. 26 meeting.
The auditor presented five homestead abatements (nos. 7133–7137) and multiple error-correction abatements tied to zone review adjustments and square‑footage corrections (nos. 7138–7143). The motion to approve the homestead abatements and the subsequent motions to approve the error-correction abatements were each moved, seconded and passed by voice vote; the chair announced, "Motion carries."
County staff said the error corrections were discovered during zone reviews and that one apartment building’s square footage was reduced, lowering its valuation. The abatements covered tax years 2023–2025 depending on the parcel and individual abatement, as noted in the motions recorded at the meeting.
No appeals or public objections were presented during the discussion on the abatements.
