Morton County approves monthly bills, payroll and several tax abatements

At the Sept. 11 Morton County Commission meeting commissioners approved the regular consent‑business items: the meeting agenda, minutes from the Aug. 26 regular meeting, and the monthly bills and payroll. The board approved veterans' tax credit abatements (items listed as abatements 7144 and 7145 for 2023–2024) and approved square‑footage correction abatements for a parcel that was split in 2025 (items 7146–7149 covering taxable years 2023–2025). The clerk noted a corrected plat and packet pages were provided for some agenda items.

The motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice or roll call votes as recorded in the minutes. County staff confirmed that the veterans' abatements and the square‑footage corrections were supported by the property records and applicable documentation.
