The Board of Education held a public hearing Monday and approved the district's fiscal-year 2025–26 budget by roll call vote following the hearing required by school code.
The budget hearing gave board members and the public a summary of beginning fund balances, anticipated revenues, and projected expenditures for each fund. No members of the public spoke in favor or opposition during the hearing, and the board moved to adopt the budget at the same meeting.
Board finance staff presented the document as a year‑to‑date summary showing beginning balances, anticipated revenues and expenditures, and ending fund balances. The presenter said the summary is required by school code "to show this to you before budget hearing." Board members asked no substantive changes during the hearing and proceeded to consider the adoption resolution.
The board approved the resolution authorizing adoption of the 2025–26 fiscal-year budget by roll call. Board members voting "aye" during the roll call included Lindsay Hines, Jeff Mann, Laura Stevenson, Andrea Anderson (listed in the roll call as Andrea/Adelson in parts of the transcript), Ramona Dixon and Jason Farrer; the motion carried.
The superintendent and finance staff said the district will continue to monitor revenue and expenditures throughout the year and will bring periodic financial reports to the board.
The district will submit the adopted budget as required to the Illinois State Board of Education and will publish it consistent with state law.
