The contract covers a phased process DeliverEd described during a presentation to the board: an initial diagnostic and stakeholder engagement phase in fall, drafting a long‑term vision and a “portrait of a graduate,” creation of an implementation plan with timelines and metrics, and follow‑through support that includes quarterly touchpoints and an annual refresh. Corey Gordon, chief executive officer of DeliverEd, told the board the firm will help the district “set up the routine so the superintendent can regularly look at data, talk about how the work is going, and make adjustments when things aren't on track.”
DeliverEd’s proposal emphasizes convening a roughly 40‑person steering committee of students, staff, families and community partners, conducting focus groups and student shadowing, and producing both an internal operational plan and a public‑facing plan for the district website. Gordon said the firm’s work includes a dashboard for ongoing progress monitoring and a commitment to remain engaged during the early months of implementation rather than delivering a plan and leaving.
Several board members asked whether the board should wait for the new board members seated after the upcoming election to authorize a multi‑year plan. Board members who served on the selection committee said starting this year allows data collection and committee work to begin in the fall and gives incoming board members a role in later stages of implementation. The board’s planning committee had recommended DeliverEd as the unanimous choice after reviewing multiple proposals.
The board motion to award the contract carried with no recorded no votes or abstentions. The district’s superintendent’s office and DeliverEd will begin preparatory work this spring and start stakeholder engagement in the early weeks of the 2025–26 school year, with a target of presenting a draft plan for board approval in March 2026.
The contract was discussed during the board’s business docket and followed a public presentation from DeliverEd. The board’s decision authorizes administration to finalize the agreement and proceed with the schedule outlined in the DeliverEd proposal.
