District 207 administrators told the board they have launched the strategic‑planning outreach phase: a community survey has been emailed to staff and families and will also be distributed via the district newsletter; 35 focus groups are scheduled to gather input from a broad set of stakeholders.

Administrators said the survey takes five to ten minutes and is accessible by QR code and web link. The district has scheduled focus groups to include area superintendents, parents (current and incoming), teachers, support staff, students, administrators, the superintendent advisory council and cabinet. Board members were participating in one‑on‑one interviews with the consultant and some were assisting with focus groups.

Staff said the planning team will summarize survey and focus‑group input and then produce a draft plan the board can consider; the administration expects to have a draft plan to the board by March for review and then move toward adoption and implementation steps. Meetings with the planning team are scheduled through October, November, December and January with additional rounds for feedback.

No board vote was required for the update; staff asked if board members had questions on the timeline and outreach plan.
