The Lincoln Way Community High School District 210 superintendent told the board the district arranged an additional ACT testing site at Lincoln Way East for juniors and other students in June to provide more testing opportunities; students may select the digital or paper format.
Officials reported nearly 200 students had already signed up for the additional testing date. Staff said some students performed better on the recent digital administration compared with a February paper test in some subject areas while other scores moved differently; they described the results as preliminary and said the district will continue to monitor performance across future administrations.
District staff noted that ACT is shifting to a fully digital format and dropping the science test in the fall; the district encouraged juniors to use summer testing opportunities to become comfortable with digital delivery prior to the fall changes. The board heard that the district will use staff proctors and that students must pay to take the June ACT, which had limited seats in the region, prompting the district to open the additional site.
