Ward County hears larger 2026 funding requests from several local agencies

Brekka Kramer, president of MACEDC, presented the MACEDC strategic plan and requested $65,205 for 2026, up from $63,000 approved for 2025. Alechia Neubauer, treasurer of the Berthold Economic Development Corporation, requested $63,000 for 2026, up from $25,000 approved in 2025. John Warner, president of the Ryder Historical Society, requested $5,570 for 2026; the society had been approved for $2,500 in 2025. Mark Schumaker, chairman of the Ward County Soil Conservation District, requested $247,646 for 2026, up from $219,100 in 2025. David Lebrun, treasurer of the Ward County Historical Society, requested $84,790 for 2026; the society received $47,000 in 2025.
Commissioners did not vote on funding at the meeting; the requests will be considered as part of the county’s 2026 budget process.
